I have always dreamed of sitting in my fantasy flat in Paris eating Ladurre Macarons drinking tea… Since I am not in Paris and the closest Ladurre shop is in Manhattan I decided to make my own! I made a complete mess of my kitchen and have spent most of the afternoon cleaning it up but I have 6 beautiful little macarons waiting for me after I eat dinner :) (My family and I had to taste a few for quality control before dinner obviously!) If you are going to make macarons for the first time I suggest doing some research first! Many websites and cook books talk about preparing the ingredients days in advance. I followed a few different recipes actually but the best one I have found was David Lebovitz recipe! I do suggest looking at other recipes for tips though! Macarons are kind of tricky to begin with but honestly provided you can be patient enough to follow the numerous steps to perfection, they will come out so delicious the effort is certainly worth it!
